Woman attacked by raccoon in her own bed, thought it was pet cat
A 73-year-old woman was attacked by a raccoon in her bed when she went to pet the animal because she thought it was her cat.
Feel free to read that again, if you’d like. That is not the premise for a Saturday Night Live sketch – it is a thing that actually happened in Hingham yesterday.
Police told the Patriot Ledger that the raccoon managed to get into the house through a cat door at the back of the house before finding his way into the woman’s bed. When she finally realized that perhaps her cat was not the only fuzzy creature that could fit through a hole in her door, it was already too late.
Thankfully, the woman managed to escape with only minor injuries to her hands and face before chasing the animal from her bedroom and calling police.
That’s such a relief because now we can push forward with all our hilarious Sears Optical commercial comparisons:
As for the raccoon, it did not face such a hilarious fate. Animal control euthanized it and a state lab will test it for rabies. Womp womp.
