It’s time to change how we do condiments

I don’t like ketchup.
Yeah, yeah, you might think I’m crazy, but frankly, when I’m nomming on a delicious burger or some tasty french fries, tomato goop isn’t exactly what I’m going for.
But that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy the occasional condiment (HELLOOOO BARBECUE SAUCE!), and if I’m going to use some saucy toppings, there doesn’t seem to be any better way to do it than this:
Reddit user hi9 was kind enough to share this video of one of the few things Australians are doing way better than us. These ketchup packets (or packets of whatever your preferred condiment may be) are straight genius and something tells me American parents would be happy to have a no fuss, no muss dispensing method as they force feed their children McDonald’s “chicken” nuggets.
That’s not to say we don’t do condiments kind of right. Lifehacker’s post on the best way to use condiment cups is something to keep in mind for your next fast food excursion. This little tip from Instructables on using your muffin tin is great for parties. And, of course, the advent of the squeeze bottle has saved millions from the classic “too little ketchup… too little ketchup… OH GOD NO ALL THE KETCHUP!” problem that comes with the glass bottles.
Look, no one’s saying the Australian’s invented Franch here, but don’t let our foolhardy American pride keep us from maximizing our condiment efficiency. Sometimes it’s best to just admit when we’re doing it wrong.
